So I noticed the “flexa spedn”app that allows you to use bitcoin at places like Nordstrom, AMC theatre’s, GameStop and other retailers is finally out of the trial mode and available to the general public now but...

What happened to their partnerships with Starbucks and Whole Foods? I noticed they weren’t on the list of accepting stores. Starbucks was the biggest retailer they were marketing a few months back

Tried gambling with bitcoin on Bodog but they wouldn’t give back my coins! Yet another place that is doing crypto wrong, and really I’m losing faith with anyone actually using crypto.

I wanted to try and see how bitcoin gambling works so signed up a fake person and deposited a tiny amount of money 0.0012 coins. Did some gambling in fiat (they convert it, you can’t gamble with actual bitcoins, which was immediately disappointing). I quadrupled my money betting on sports, so had about $40 in the account. I did a test withdrawal of $10 to see how that works, and they just froze my account.
I chatted with tech support, gave them all kinds of info, which i think was correct (I did make up a fake person) and then they asked me to call. I don’t really want to do that just to prove my identity, as that would kind of defeat the purpose of using this payment method, so they can keep my 0.0012 coins.
It seems to me that everything was alright while they had my money but giving it up was a little harder for them.
The whole point of crypto is to have some level of anonymity. I know money laundering and stuff, but they have a clause where you can only withdraw money you’ve actually already bet, which I did since I was just withdrawing winnings, so that can’t be the problem.
This is all quite disappointing because I want crypto to work and I want to use it in my life but I just keep losing money. I used Quadriga as my exchange and whatever I was using for trading is gone. (I did have coins in various other wallets so I didn’t lose all). Tried gambling with it. No go. Only thing i find it useful for is paying my VPN. And even that didn’t work for a couple of months as they were changing their payment processor. Can you imagine someone not taking a MasterCard for a month while they get a new card reader installed?
Getting fiat out of coins is also far far too onerous. Quadriga went under. In Canada, coinbase will only take fiat but not give it back. When I tried authenticating with kraken it somehow failed, required many emails to tech support and then I just gave up as it wasn’t worth it (I provided persona info which you have to do to for them to send fiat, it was stuck on “in progress”)
TL DR; this turned into a rant, but don’t give your coins to a major betting platform. They know how to take the coins but not how to give them back. This is, along with many other failures with crypto is making me want to just give up crypto altogether.

I am not going to support merchants that use Bitcoin and will in fact spend my money in places where they oppose them.

It's so goddamn hot in Southern Europe like it has never been, as far as I remember. I absolutely believe in global warming and the goddamn bitcoin chain consumes as much as Switzerland, Ethereum consumes as much as Bolivia, add to that all of the other stupid forks and other coins!
And all of that for what? What good is it generating to the world to consume such absurd amounts of energy, polluting more the environment, make it even shittier, increase the chances for cancers, all of that for what?
I myself once mined that for few months and I can't even say how bad I felt. The room was consistently turbo hot, where is that heat going if not making this planet hotter?
How can we spend so much money and investments for green energy while even accepting something that if gets popular would annihilate any effort???
Just imagine how many diseases we would've cured with all of that monstrous processing power if it was used by scientists and researchers, but no, for nothing.

A BILLION TO LIFE (TV show) - When a felon gets out of prison after 8 years to find out he’s a billionaire from an old drug deal made with Bitcoin, him and his 3 ex-con best friends use their new found wealth to take on the broken criminal justice system that put them behind bars in the first place.

It's a comedy in the vein of Trailer Park Boys meets House of Cards. I wrote the pilot and a mini pitch bible that my managers really liked. But I'm not sure what to do now. My managers have little experience in TV and are focusing on getting my features made because that's what they know how to do.
I was hoping some people on the TV side of the business could give me some advice on what my next step should be since most of my experience is in features. Should I query production companies? Query TV managers? (my managers now said they'd be cool with me pursuing a manager on the TV side since their focus will always be on my features). Whatever it is, I got to do something because this is a very now idea for a show and I don't want to sit and wait on it. I've been too passive a lot in my career, and I want to start being more active in the networking and pitching process, especially now that I live in LA.
Does anyone know any good TV networking events or meetups in LA ? Or if anyone on here is digging this five page pitch bible below, please reach out on here or through PM. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
A Billion to Life Bible
And if anyone just wants to meet up for a beer (or cheap whisky, or a hot tea) let me know. I need to stop worrying about paying rent and start meeting people out here. I'm in West Hollywood.
